“If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health”. 

Nia is a movement practice for your body, mind, emotions, and spirit.   It is a complete, unique fitness program that tones and trims the body superbly through pleasure, not pain.  It promotes strength and muscle definition without the use of weights.   You’ll tighten, tone, lengthen, strengthen, lose pounds and inches and have fun doing it.  You’ll learn to follow “the Body’s Way”, a breakthrough fitness concept that teaches you to move in the way that most benefits your individual body.   It is usually done barefoot and is kind to the joints.  It is the first form of fusion fitness, with moves drawn from nine fitness disciplines, including tae kwon do, tai chi, yoga, jazz dance and modern dance. It is adaptable to every level of fitness, every age and body type.  The workout, done to dynamic music, is self-paced, and a lot of fun.    


With its “More-Gain, No-Pain”,  Nia bursts boundaries of age, gender and fitness levels, delivering an enjoyable and effective practice for everyone.  Built on a rich body of education and a philosophy rooted in “The Joy of Movement,”  Nia encourages individuals to choose Pleasure as the path toward achieving greater overall physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being.

The movements in Nia have been proven to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, diabetes, and obesity to name just a few.
