Healthy Planet
There are many words that describe well-being.  According to The World Health Organization, 2007, “Health is defined in the WHO’s Constitution as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.

How can we as individuals contribute to the social well-being of our planet? Being passionate about a cause and volunteering helps cultivate a healthy spirit  and allows us to make a positive impact on the health of the world.

There is a feeling of internal peace about giving without any need or expectation for reward. Knowing you are helping a cause that you genuinely care about and helping make a difference in another person's life, thus making the world a healthier place, is an ideal outcome.

Think about the things you love and are passionate about.  Instead of just having those feelings, do something about it. Get involved and make a difference.

I did by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and co-writing a book about it in support of the African Grandmothers raising children orphaned by Aids.  Read about my story here

Thirdly, be passionate about something.  My desire to see Africa from its roof top was fuelled by my fundraising for the African Grandmothers and their grandkids orphaned by HIV Aids.

To reach Africa’s roof top is exhilarating. To make a difference in someone else’s life is life changing.

Standing on Africa’s rooftop, I felt proud of the difference in the world I was able to make through my efforts and my physical achievement.

“Ten years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do.  Explore. Dream. Discover.”
